The News, Explained

Apple started App Store Indie Games Week on October 12, 2026. The week-long event uses daily features and curated collections to highlight games made by independent teams. Its seven App Store debuts available to download or pre-order on iPhone and iPad are Sifu, Vampire Crawlers, No Man’s Sky, Little Kitty, Big City, 9 Kings, Dome Keeper and Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall. Sifu is a third-person action game built around parrying simultaneous attacks, chaining moves and using objects in the environment. The iPhone and iPad version has touch controls tuned for mobile, a reworked camera system and controller support. Apple’s announcement does not put supported device generations, storage, display targets or pricing into one compatibility table. Source

Vampire Crawlers moves the Vampire Survivors setting into a card-based dungeon structure. Players combine cards and uncover relics while working through changing dungeon runs. Apple presents it as one of the week’s debuts but does not state an exact download time or price in the newsroom announcement. Source

No Man’s Sky is scheduled to make its mobile debut on iPhone and iPad on October 28. The space exploration, trading, combat and survival game includes every major expansion released to date, through the recent Cosmos update. Because its universe is generated at runtime, the supported-model and storage requirements on the individual App Store page will be material conditions for mobile players. Source

Apple says four other games are available now. Little Kitty, Big City follows a cat exploring an open-world city; 9 Kings builds card armies into a kingdom strategy game; Dome Keeper combines mining with defense; and Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall asks players to make choices while managing a kingdom in crisis. The announcement presents the seven games as individual App Store downloads or pre-orders. It does not provide a common price, country-by-country sales terms including South Korea, or one supported-device table. Each product page will determine price, in-app purchases, language support and hardware compatibility. Source

OYOPICK’s Take

The useful shift is the range of genres moving to iPhone and iPad, from action and cards to strategy and large-scale space exploration. Sifu’s reworked touch controls and camera, along with No Man’s Sky including its expansions, offer clues about whether a port adapts how the game is used on mobile rather than only moving the same name to a smaller screen.

The seven releases do not share one status. Apple explicitly says four are available now, while No Man’s Sky has an October 28 date. The newsroom post does not settle the exact timing and pricing for Sifu and Vampire Crawlers. An App Store event page that labels Download now, Pre-order and Release date in one consistent format would make the collection easier to compare.

Bringing console- and PC-scale games to mobile creates more ways to play away from a desk or television. That opportunity will depend on transparent device support, storage, battery and thermal expectations, touch-only controls and pricing. We hope Apple and the developers keep publishing device-level performance targets and accessibility options after launch.
