The News, Explained

On November 5, Xbox announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and MySims: Cozy Bundle had joined the EA Play catalog. Both games also show as included with EA Play on the Korean Xbox Store. The subscription gives members access to a catalog of games. The announcement tells you what joined it; the game listing tells you what you can run on your device. Source Source Source Source

For console play, the Korean listings show Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for Replanted, and Series X|S for the MySims bundle. Replanted is a lane defense game in which plants fend off zombies, and two people can cooperate or compete on one console. The MySims bundle pairs a town to customize in MySims with a kingdom to look after in MySims Kingdom. The Korean product page lists the bundle as single-player. Source Source Source

Cloud gaming runs the game on a remote server and streams the picture to your device without installing the game there. The Korean Replanted listing explicitly shows cloud play with Game Pass Ultimate. Xbox Wire’s November 3 lineup listed MySims for cloud, console and PC starting November 5, but the Korean MySims store page did not show the same cloud badge as Replanted. Those pages do not confirm whether the cloud version of MySims launches on a Korean account. Xbox’s Korean EA Play guide distinguishes access through Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and says libraries can vary by region and device, among other factors. Source Source Source Source

OYOPICK’s Take

For someone who already subscribes, having two more games to try is welcome. If two people want to share a console, the two-player local mode in Replanted is more useful to know than the fact that both games joined the catalog. For someone without an Xbox who is considering subscribing just to stream MySims, a better deciding factor is whether the game appears in the cloud library with a play option on their Korean account. What you want to do with the game tells you which part of the listing to look at first. Source Source Source Source
