Samsung announced Galaxy SmartTag3 on September 30, 2026. This tracker for belongings such as keys and bags supports Galaxy and iOS devices. Korea sales start October 7, followed by the US; additional markets follow in 2027. Source

Match features to each phone

Supported devices can check and share locations and use Search Nearby through SmartThings Find. iOS lacks Compass View, Ring Phone and Left Behind Alert. Families using different phones can compare their required finding features. Source

Compass View provides distance and direction. Galaxy users need Android 12 or later and UWB or Bluetooth Channel Sounding, wireless technologies for more precise relative positioning. Availability varies by country, region and device. Source

Understand remote updates and alerts

Beyond direct connection range, participating nearby Galaxy devices detect tags through the Galaxy Find Network. Update timing depends on those devices, connectivity, settings and regional conditions. These factors help explain when location information refreshes. Source

Place Notification, for entering or leaving a defined area, is a trial feature. Displayed positions may differ from actual locations, and surroundings and nearby-device participation can delay or prevent notifications. Location history lasts up to seven days; older records are automatically deleted. Source
