The News, Explained

Netflix announced a global KPop Demon Hunters fan hub on November 5. It is a collection page that puts the film and related videos in one place. The movie, its sing-along edition and earlier bonus material sit alongside short series and official choreography. Netflix has a public landing page for the hub in its Korean region. Source Source

The short stories can be watched separately from the movie. Netflix lists six episodes of HUNTR/X Backstage Pass, a stop-motion series about rehearsals and preparations. Stop-motion makes a scene move by joining photos of objects shifted a little at a time. KPop Toy Creations has three handmade shorts, and Play Games With Us has four episodes of challenges inspired by scenes from the movie. Source

The sing-along movie and seven lyric videos are for following the words. For learning the moves, Netflix lists complete routines for five songs: How It’s Done, Golden, Takedown, Soda Pop and Your Idol. Netflix’s own Tudum site had already featured the full choreography videos on October 30. The new hub brings the dance material, the film and the short stories together inside Netflix. Source Source

OYOPICK’s Take

Even around one family screen, a first-time viewer, someone who wants to sing and someone practising one routine will want different starting points. If the page makes film, music, dance and short stories easy to distinguish, its biggest benefit will be getting people to the activity they came for, rather than simply offering more videos.
