The News, Explained
Samsung’s Korean software histories list November 5, 2026 as the release date for One UI 9 on the Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra. The notes list Android 17 for both the Wi-Fi and 5G versions of each tablet in Korea. The date comes from Samsung’s release records. The notes give no exact delivery time for individual devices or schedule for models outside Korea. Source Source Source Source
The Korean S10+ Wi-Fi (SM-X820) gets build X820XXUBEZJ5, and the Ultra Wi-Fi (SM-X920) gets X920XXUBEZJ5. The S10+ 5G (SM-X826N) gets X826NKOUBEZJ7, and the Ultra 5G (SM-X926N) gets X926NKOUBEZJ7. All four previously listed Android 16 on September 21, and all still show a security patch level of September 5, 2026. The operating system version and the patch date are separate entries. To switch to split screen, you can hold the handle at the top of an app and drag it down to open a small pop-up. Drag that window to the edge of the screen to put it in split screen. For example, you could open a notes app briefly while reading a document, then put both side by side if you need them for longer. Quick Settings also lets you resize the brightness and volume sliders and the media player. Source
Samsung DeX, the tablet’s desktop-style workspace, now remembers each app’s window size and position. For example, if you leave a document app in a small window on the right, it reopens at that size and position the next time you open it in DeX. Source
OYOPICK’s Take
If you switch between a document and your notes, moving a pop-up into split screen may be the more useful change. If you regularly use the same arrangement of apps, DeX’s window memory may matter more. Both can save you from rearranging the screen as you move between quick checks and longer stretches of work on one tablet. If your reason for updating is security, the patch date is a separate measure: it did not advance in any of these four records when the Android version changed. Source Source Source Source
