The News, Explained
On November 6, Nintendo announced the release of Stellar Blade Complete Edition for Switch 2 in Korea and Japan. The action game, previously available on PS5 and PC, can now be played on Nintendo’s newer console. Developer SHIFT UP says the physical edition puts the full base game on the cartridge. Complete Edition includes the base game and the NieR:Automata and GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE collaborations. Nintendo says some included content becomes available after you reach a certain point in the main game. Buying the edition gives you access to its contents, with some items still gated by progress in the game. Source Source
The Bayonetta outfits have wider availability. SHIFT UP says four outfits for Eve are free on Switch 2, PS5, and PC from midnight on November 6 in Korea and Japan. Players who already play on PS5 or PC can get the outfits on the platform they use. Source
On Switch 2, you can move the Joy-Con 2 controllers for certain activities, including fishing. Nintendo’s example is an activity outside combat. To understand what the Switch 2 release adds, it helps to look separately at which activities use motion and which extras come with the edition. Source
OYOPICK’s Take
If you already own the game on PS5 or PC, the platform you use is enough for the Bayonetta outfits. The stronger reasons to buy the Switch 2 version are whether you want to play handheld, use Joy-Con 2 motion in supported activities, or own the base game on a cartridge. For a first-time buyer, having the collaborations together in one edition is convenient, with access to some content still tied to progress in the main game. Source Source
