The News, Explained

On October 22, 2026, Uber announced Night Shift Tab for night workers in London and Manchester. The October 25 promotion offers up to £10 off a ride or food delivery. The two discounts share a ceiling but have different closing times. Source

The date coincides with the UK clock change. GOV.UK says that on October 25, 2026, clocks move from 2am back to 1am as British Summer Time ends. An hour repeats that night; the promotion times below are UK local times, without conversion to Korean time. Source

NIGHTSHIFT covers rides from 12:01am to 8am on October 25. NIGHTSHIFTEATS covers Uber Eats orders from 12:01am to 11:55pm the same day. Source

Each code has a maximum £10 discount. Other fees and exclusions apply to rides; delivery fees, other fees and exclusions apply to food orders. Uber directs users to the app for full terms. The amount received therefore depends on the applicable app conditions and purchase amount. Source

Driver tip matching is separate. It covers completed London and Manchester Uber trips, excluding Eats, starting between 12:01am and 8am on October 25, including the clock-change hour. Uber will match 100% of tips added within 24 hours of completion, capped at £10 per trip and £50 per driver in total, subject to budget availability. Other fees and exclusions apply. Source

OYOPICK’s Take

Getting home and eating may happen at different points in a night worker’s day. After 8am, the ride code’s window has closed while the food code continues into the evening. Showing those deadlines side by side would help workers judge which offer fits their finish and meal times.

For drivers, per-trip and personal caps and the available budget matter alongside the matching percentage. We hope the app clearly separates customer discounts from driver support and shows the relevant deadline and actual discount. If a campaign fits working people’s hours and communicates its conditions clearly, digital services could make nighttime travel and meals a little easier to connect.
