SK Telecom said it first introduced its internally developed fencing AI performance analysis system, SKT-FAN, as the national team prepared for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The system analyzes match footage to identify when points are scored and conceded. Source

SKT-FAN creates a chronological timeline of a match and highlights of key moments. It also analyzes each athlete’s movements. SK Telecom said it developed the system with the goal of reducing the time analysts spend repeatedly reviewing footage by up to 90%. Source
During the competition, SK Telecom sent additional medical trainers to manage athletes’ physical condition and performance analysts to review matches on-site. The company said it has sponsored fencing as chair of the Korea Fencing Association since 2003, with cumulative support totaling 36 billion won. Source
According to the company, South Korea’s fencing team finished the competition with 10 medals, winning medals across the men’s and women’s sabre, épée and foil events. In the men’s team sabre event, South Korea defeated Japan 45–44 to claim its fourth consecutive Asian Games title dating back to 2014. Source
